I Won A Coach Bag

The week before Christmas, my kids and I were looking for presents for my husband. We were at a Big 5, and across the street was a Christmas Store, you know, one of those seasonal stores that only come around at holidays. So, we decided to go take a look at the store just for fun. When we entered, I saw a sign-up for a giveaway, and decided to enter. I didn't even know what it was for; I just assumed it was for a Christmas ornament. We looked around the store and saw some really cute trumpet and violin ornaments, but we didn't buy them because they were expensive.

Well, later that week, I received a phone call from the store saying I had won a Coach bag! I called my husband and asked him if he could pick it up on the way home from work, and he wondered if I knew how much it was worth. I had no idea, so I looked it up on the internet and was shocked! When he brought the bag home, the price tag was still on it and it was $379 marked down to $349. I couldn't believe it! I have never owned anything that expensive. In fact, I used to buy $10 purses, but they kept breaking, so when a store had a sale for a $30 purse, I asked my husband if I could buy it, because maybe it would last longer than the $10 ones. I felt bad even asking for that! So, I didn't know what to do with such an expensive purse. We decided to list it on Craigslist and I posted it on my Facebook page. One of the ladies at the dance studio where my daughter attends bought it from me. I will probably use the money to buy me some much needed new clothes.

  1. That is an amazing win! I own a Coach purse I got at the outlet and paid under $90 for it with coupons and sales. I hate it! I will stick with my mid-range $30-40 purses. I buy them at Marshall's and they hold up very well. Nine West is one of my favorite brands. I have a Tignanello that I adore. It's a butter leather and is a great purse I paid $35 on clearance. That was two years ago and still looks great.

Congratulations and I would have sold it as well. I don't blame you, and sounds like a much better use of money for you. Thanks for sharing as I love reading about other's good fortune. Maybe just a little could rub off on me. :)

  2. Bonnie, I'm glad I'm not the only one that likes $30-40 purses. I've never looked at Marshalls for a purse. I'll have to look there when I need a new one. I hope some good fortune rubs off on you!

  6. Lynne, I haven't bought anything yet because the kids are always growing and they always need new clothes. Hopefully soon it will be my turn to go shopping.
