I love reading, so I was so excited to be able to review 6 books! Since I'm a mom, it's like an early Mother's Day present for me. When I opened the box and looked through the books, I knew immediately which book I would read first:
Winning The Teacher's Heart
by Jean C. Gordon. I'm a long-term substitute teacher this year, so I was really looking forward to reading this book; I love books that I can relate to. This is a wonderful book about a single mom, Becca, who's surprised when her high school crush, Jared, is back in town. He's a motocross champion that hasn't been home in years. He's kind to her, but when she finds out he's home because he wants to build a motocross school on land near her house, she has to figure out what to do. Her children's welfare is number one and her former in-laws don't approve of the guy or his plan. She has a tough choice to make between her heart and her home.

I really loved this book! I couldn't put it down! I mainly read at night, before bed, and even though I'm always so tired, I couldn't stop reading. The story is very easy to follow, right from the first page. I really like this about this book, because so many times I've read a book that I can't really get into for a couple of chapters. With this book, I was hooked right from the start. The characters and setting are described really well, and I can actually picture everything going on. I can relate to Becca, even though I'm not a single mom, but she always thinks of her children first and is trying to raise them the right way, according to the Scriptures. She doesn't get along with her ex in-laws, even though she tries, and I have the same problems with my in-laws. Also, the developing love story between her and Jared is very fun to follow. I loved this book so much that I even brought it to school, and read it on my breaks and sometimes even while the kids had their silent reading time. I can't wait to read all the other books. I think the next one I'll read will be, A Firefighter's Promise because my youngest son wants to be a firefighter when he grows up.
