This week was great because the kids and I were off from school! Although, some of our week was getting appointments out of the way.
On Monday, 2 of my kids had dentist appointments. Thankfully, neither one had any cavities. My youngest son and I worked on cleaning his room. He has to get rid of some old toys/books in order to make room for the new ones he receives on Christmas. We also found some puzzles he didn't want anymore. We put them together to make sure there weren't any missing pieces, and there weren't!
On Tuesday, I went for a walk in the rain. I go on a walk every morning, so I decided to still go anyway. It was very wet and windy, but it was still enjoyable. I liked the fresh, clean air. My son and I cleaned more of his room.
On Wednesday, my daughter had her physical; everything looked fine. It's her last physical with the pediatrician, because next year she'll be 18 and will switch to my doctor. All these milestones, I don't always think about until they happen. Sigh! My son and I finished cleaning his room, so he was already for Christmas.
On Thursday, we went to our church's Christmas Eve service. At the end, we went outside for the candlelight service. We meet at a school, so we can't light the candles inside, or the sprinklers would go off, so we have to have it outside in the cold. I never take a candle because the wax always drips down past the paper holder and burns my finger, so I just stand next to someone who has a candle. It was a nice service, and I got a nice surprise after. A lady came up to me to say hi, and it was the lady who used to be the secretary when my older kids were in elementary school. She retired, and I really missed her, so it was nice to see her again. She was such a wonderful secretary - genuinely kind and caring about the students and their families.
On Friday, it was Christmas. The kids enjoyed opening their presents. My parents came over for Christmas dinner, and my youngest son put on a magic show with the kit my parents gave him for a gift.
On Saturday, it was just a normal day of cleaning, grocery shopping, and running errands.
How was your week?
