This week has been the first day of school for all 3 of my kids. On Tuesday, my 3 year old son started preschool for 2 mornings a week. He did o.k. At the beginning, after the pledge of allegiance, he was confused about where to go, but the preschool director noticed and she led him to his class. He said his first day of school was fine. Today, when I picked him up, the teacher asked me if he had ever eaten a chicken wing before, and I said no. Well, when she looked at him, he was eating the bone! Luckily he didn't choke. Other than that, he said he liked it, especially playing outside in the pirate ship.
Today, is the first day of school for my other 2 kids. My 14 year old son started high school! I hope he has a good day and was able to find all of his classes. The staff there, all seem very nice and genuinely concerned about the well-being of all students, so I'm sure he'll be fine. I think he'll also like high school, because he's very smart, and I think he'll enjoy being treated like a kid who's being taught to become an independent adult.
My 11 year old daughter started 7th grade today. She's still at the same middle school, so her day shouldn't have been too bad. She will have new teachers and new classes, but it shouldn't be hard for her to find them. I talked to my husband after he dropped her off(while I was dropping off my son) and he said she has almost all the same classes as her best friend. So, that's great.
I'm anxious to pick them up and see how their day went. I hope it all works out because they only get out 5 minutes apart. I will have to pick up my daughter first, and then drive to the high school to pick up my son. My husband won't allow him to have a cell phone, so we'll have to do it the old fashioned way and just try to find each other. We'll have the same problem with drop off tomorrow, so we'll see how it goes and if we need to adjust our times in the morning, or not. Anyway, the next hour until I pick them up, can't come fast enough! I've been nervous for 3 days, and praying all day long, so I can't wait to see them and hear about their day!FLabels: My Kids
