Yesterday at Walgreens, I spent $4.02 and saved $20.88, which is 81%. Here's what I bought:
2 Keebler cookies $1.99 each = $3.98 - $.55 coupon = $3.43
3 Betty Crocker blueberry muffin mix $1.00
3 Renuzit $2.54
1 Oral B toothbrush $1.99 + $1.00 register reward
1 Carefree $.99 - $.50 coupon = $.49
1 Blistex Revive $1.99 + $1.99 register reward
I also had $7.00 in register rewards to use from last time. While I was shopping, I noticed a lady with her coupons in a binder, and the coupons were in baseball card plastic sleeves. I need to learn to shop like that! She asked me some questions about what our Walgreens accepted, she's from out of town, and I knew some answers, but not all. So, when I checked out, I asked if I could break up my purchases, in the future, into multiple transactions so I could use the register rewards to pay for the next purchase, and the cashier said yes! In fact, she showed me how to do it this time. I paid for everything other than the muffin mixes in the first transaction, then used the $1.00 register reward I earned to pay for the muffin mixes, thus paying $0.00 for that transaction! I'm going to have to do this again in the future!
At CVS, I spent $1.07 and saved $10.78, which is 91%. Here's what I bought:
2 Smuckers jelly $5.00 - $1.00 coupon = $4.00 + $3.00 extra bucks
1 Softsoap $.99
I also had $4.00 in extra bucks to use from last time. Next time, I'll have to ask them if I can break up my transactions, like I can at Walgreens.Labels: Shopping Trips
